NFTs created by Ukrainian artists depict the horrors of war. They were created after the Russian army invaded Ukraine, murdering innocent people, and shelling cities. While Russians do not think twice to ruin precious art objects, Ukrainian artists collaborate to make NFTs and sell them in order to gather money for their defenders.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation in Ukraine has released NFTs that were made to help Ukrainian military forces. This project was revealed back in March, and now this collection is completely released. It is called the “Meta History Museum of War.” It is more than simple art since it documents the horrors of the war that Ukraine faces every day. Artists continue to add more works to this “NFT museum”, hoping to support their warriors as much as they can.
Right now there are 54 works with the depiction of the first three days of the Russian-Ukrainian war. NFTs were created by both Ukrainians and international artists who document the events. They show the horrors inside the country and the international support Ukraine receives from its foreign colleagues.
Ukrainian officials released a statement on NFTs. They explained the artworks. Every token in the collection is the news that artists wanted to share. The news is provided by officials and is placed near the illustration or inside of it. Each piece is in its place, organized in chronological order. The Ministry says that this way they hope to save everything in history.
This project is not the first one organized by the artists’ community of Ukraine. The country and its people are gathering everything to pay for the new helmets, more weapons, and food for their military. Since the beginning of the war, Ukraine has already collected $100 million in cryptocurrency donated by concerned people across the world.
